The countdown begins

Day 359 - 24 June, 2010

Coloring Book

Obviously my counting got off somewhere this year, and so I have adjusted my day to date accordingly. Silly me.

Have I mentioned that I love being a mom? If I could do more to get Mac to learn his lowercase alphabet, I'd feel better, but he is already doing so well! Coloring is loads of fun.

Day 360 - 25 June, 2010

A bit of sun

My sister-in-law brought over some beautiful sunflowers. They are sitting on our table because I love fresh cut flowers. They make a room look fantastic, and they make me feel loved.

This photo is a different angle. I have taken plenty of floral shots, and thought that I would switch it up some. I really loved the result! The texture on the stem and leaf is not something I would normally notice. It feels so good when I stop to smell the sunflowers, and take advantage of the small and simple things that get taken for granted. Can't you just imagine the way the fuzzy stalk feels when you look at this shot?

Day 361 - 26 June, 2010

Block party

On our way over to my good friend Tamara's house for he block party/tenure celebration for her husband, my son was so excited to spot a butterfly. This neat little guy stopped to rest right here on our car as I was packing us up to go. When it closes its wings, the camouflage looks just like tree bark, but open this is such a beautiful shot.

Day 362 - 27 June, 2010

Indecision

Here is my Sunday Special.

I could not decide between these two darlings, and so they tie for photo of the day.

The older he gets, the more I guess he looks like me. I know that he no longer has Tim's nose, especially since it is so obvious that Aubrey does. He appears to have one of my brothers' nose and the other's hair... I guess he looks more like me than like Tim.

Aubrey though... Tim calls her his little Mexican baby. She shares Malcolm's face shape, and I think they have the same lips. It's too early to tell about hair, and we already know their eyes are way different. She's not a spitting image of Tim, but she's definitely a different mix. They are both beautiful!

Proud to be a braggart

Day 351 - 19 June, 2010

Deliciousness

I have been watching what I eat a lot lately. It is no secret that I gained too much weight this last pregnancy, and I have so much to drop. It would be spectacular if I could lose it all by the new year, but alas... I fear that it will only get harder, since I am going o be nursing throughout. Anyway, I have been making some excellent meal. Feast your eyes on more quiche. I am an awesome cook.

Day 352 - 20 June, 2010

Smartypants, without pants

Uncle Freddy got Mac these awesome blocks for Christmas.

He loves them.

They stack, they have the alphabet, and they are just way cool in general.

We stack, we alphabet, we knock over, we rinse and repeat.

I have a child genius.

Sans the pants.

Day 353 - 21 June, 2010

Faux Flora

I made incredibly cute interchangeable headbands for Aubrey.

In talking with Jen when she came to visit, I have made them look even cuter.

She just adds to all of that cuteness.

These headbands rock!

Day 354, 22 June, 2010

Focal point

Aubrey now loves a good focal point.

Faces are a baby favorite.

I give you, "focused baby

Isn't she adorable?

The family photos we took at the Botanical Gardens today should be adorable!

Day 355 - 23 June, 2010

Jigglers

We made some rockin jello today.

I just want to take a moment to reflect on how awesome it is to be a mom. I love that they love me. I love that I get to teach them all about what it means to be alive. I love that I get to share the fun things, and to show them what it's all about. I love experiencing. Little things like making jello jigglers that are too fun to eat, this is what it is all about. I really wish that I could quit my job, and do this until my kids are school age. I would be so good at being a mom all the time. But, it doesn't appear to be possible. I love my family more than I can express... As this photo a day project is nearing an end, I note that my original purpose was to delve further outside of my family for inspiration. As I tried to do that, I discovered that my family is truly what inspires me. I am constantly in awe of the beauty of my experiences with them. I hope that I have not bored you all too much with the play by play of our experiences, but I am more enamored with my little ones than I was before. They are amazing to me, and will probably always be the focus of my photos. Some shots have been good, and others not so good... But, I am proud of my family. Moments like jello jigglers make life awesome..

Eclecticity

Day 345 - 13 June, 2010

Cousins

Rub a dub dub. Three men in a tub, and who do you think they be? The butcher, the baker, the candlestick maker. Turn them out, knaves, all three!

When spending time with Tim's sister we stayed late and ended up having a group bath. I love these three cousins.

Day 346 - 14 June, 2010

Cherry Heaven

When my parents came to visit, they brought kiwi, and California cherries from their tree. Well, my husband ate most of them, and they were gone too soon. When I complained about how bad our Virginia imports from Cali are, they sent me over 10 pounds of cherries via the States Post. Heaven is a place on Earth.

Day 347 - 15 June, 2010

Humor in the lights

If you look very carefully, you will be able to tell that the light above the Chevy logo says "NO REFUNDS".

I couldn't resist this stoplight photo. This car was a driving billboard.

Day 348 - 16 June, 2010

By Bye Birdy

We had a little visitor on our back stoop railing.

Yes, this little chickie does fly, and Tim swears he is a morning dove.

Kind of cute visitor, huh?

He stuck around after a big storm we had.

I don't know where he came from.

Day 349 - 17 June, 2010

Light in the darkness

In an effort to get a Rothko look alike in my photography, I opted to do a dark version which plays on poor lighting in my yard. I may decide to spruce it up with photo shop later, but for now it is a colorless mess. This will look really good with some negative overlay, and some color filters. I am still working on getting some good artwork for my house. I woul love to say the art is made by me!

Day 350 - 18 June, 2010

More than a trim.

I got sick of trimming Mac's hair every two weeks, so I decided to do a summer cut. This way I don't have to do it again until this fall, and he will keep a cool head this summer. Tim hates it. I think he looks even more grown up, and he is a total heart throb. What do you think?

Day 342 - 10 June, 2010

Quiche and Muffins

I had the hankering to cook some yummy stuff with leftovers.

The quiche definitely made a wonderful start to the day.

I love leftovers meals.

Day 343 - 11 June, 2010

World Cup

Loving the world cup anticipation.

In case you were wondering, our home is all about Mexico.

Oh, and The United States...

Here is a snap of our football.

Day 344 - 12 June, 2010

Harbor Fest

We enjoyed our corn.

We enjoyed our turkey legs.

We enjoyed our lemonade.

But a crowd with an antsy 2 year old is nerve wracking.

We didn't stay long.

This shot is of one of the flags at Townpoint Park. I think it has a neat pattern.

Thank goodness there's nothing to do.

Day 339 - 7 June, 2010

Monday Mischief

After a ton of time spent cramming every moment with things to do, we took a break and just played at home.

I LOVE this Malcolm expression.

Day 340 - 8 June, 2010

Disgusting

I wanted to do some cooking, since it had been a while. While my back was turned, the butter disappeared. I found it in the living room, and it looked just like in the picture.

He was eating it! GROSS!!!!!

Day 341 - 9 June, 2010

Best shower ever

I still had a case of the sillies. As I started to finish all of my cleaning that needs to get done before the summer, I just played and played with Malcolm and Aubrey. Mac found the "rainbrella" and we had the best shower ever.

Farmer addendum

My parents

Day 333 - 1 June, 2010

Errands

This is the day between visitors. The Eyrings were gone, and my parents were on their way. I had so many errands to do, and I began the day standing in line at the post office. All I had to do was turn in a license plate. I waited in line outside. I waited in line inside. I waited for my number to be called, and I handed the lady a license plate. I did all of this with Malcolm strapped to my back, and holding Aubrey. It was fabulous. Let me tell you... (sarcasm loaded)

Day 334 - 2 June, 2010

A good Swim

We decided to mostly nap the day away for day one. Our adventure lay in the cute little hotel swimming pool. It took Mac a moment to warm up to this strange pool, but once he had gotten comfortable, he was fearless. My parents were fairly impressed with his swimming prowess.

Day 335 - 3 June, 2010

The zoo

We enjoyed it thoroughly. I thought these flowers were a beautiful photo, and so, I have it as my photo for the day... Not quite what you'd expect for a zoo photograph, but you will get the animals in my extras log. I love the color contrast here.

OH, and it was hot.

Day 336 - 4 June, 2010

Aquarium

I got so many visually striking photos at the aquarium. This shot made my photo of the day for the great colors, and neat effect of the mirrors. I had such a hard time picking from my beautiful shots, but you can see for yourself in the trip addendum if there is one you like better. The aquarium was a blast. So was eating ocean yummies after the aquarium. The fish made us hungry.

Day 337 - 5 June, 2010

Perfectly Frank

My 2 year old plays Ms. Pac Man. He loves games. Nevermind that the game came out 20 years before he was born. He knows good clean fun when he sees it.

And the dogs were delicious too.

Perfectly Frank is one of our fun dog joints. We enjoyed watching some good old T-ball, and then settled on some American deliciousness after America's pastime.

We ate out so much this week. It was good.

Day 338 - 6 June, 2010

The Blessing was the Point

The point of my parents' trip is my daughter's blessing. It was wonderful. I loved having them, and The blessing was special. At three weeks, my little girl has already met a ton of milestone. Everyday holds something precious. My two angels are my world. My husband and I love our families. My parents sharing this time gave us such great memories to treasure.
