It's raining, it's pouring!

Happy Birthday to me!

So, when it rains it pours. Not only does that stand true for the negative, but for the positive also. This has been perhaps, my best birthday ever. Not just the day February 24th, but it seems that it has been my birthday for weeks. Thanks mom and dad for a rockin racing bike. Thanks Sarah for a fabulous running series (I dig our matching windbreakers). Thanks Jen for my way cool pocket tripod, and my stellar scrapbooking tools (and the purse, you can never go wrong with a purse). Thank you Tim for my week of sushi... yummmmm, sushi. Thanks to my inlaws for my camera accessories.

Oh, and to everyone that was there, the "surprise party" was fun. Yes, my loving husband thought it would be fun to try and surprise me yet again. Too bad I arrived before the guests, and had already started cooking ribs, because I wasn't invited. And boo for going right after my swim, in sweats. But it was fun! Thanks to everyone that came! To the Haines for my cake, and use of their home. To the Valles for helping with Sushi, and for some hot tights. To the Robertsons for my keen organizer. To Sarah and Matt for the fun chats. To my inlaws who hate sushi.

So, Monday last, I had the winter concert for my big school.
I made all of the kids sing happy birthday to me before we started, and one even brought me birthday kisses! It's probably the most fun show that I've ever put on, and they had a great time. Thanks kids! Oh, and the next day I had my other schools all sing happy birthday to me, all day long. And when I came home, I was feeling the love through a ton of facebook messages, and even my dentist e-mailed me happy birthday!
Happy Birthday Kirsten

Your friends at Associated Dental Care wish you a very happy birthday. We hope that you have a wonderful day and look forward to seeing you again soon.

See you soon,

So, alas, the birthday festivities have boiled down to nothing. But I should be getting new countertops, and still have a couple of gift cards. Nothing says love like free stuff in my world.

Oh, and my best friend texted me 25 fond memories, and a couple to grow on, since it is the big 26. I just thought I'd share, because this also made my day. No one else will probably get it, but it's for posterity. She did this on top of the spiffy blog where I got to be a super hero.
1) "Oh, I get to shake your hand."
2) Getting very wet on New Years morning
3) "Um... Why is your bedroom wall red and blue?"
4)Running up and down Mt. Trashmore
5) "AAAAAAAAAAHBAAAAAAH!" "Why did you scream?" "I'm not sure."
6) "If she has to go, then I'm going too."
7) Mad ddr skills
8)Clothes with ears or bears on them
9) "Look at the mountains" What's wrong with your face?"
10) Swimming at MWR
11) Thrift store trips
12) The red wagon on the side of the street
13) a text including a pic of me upside down in a computer chair
14) Pregnancy photos at Ft. Story
15) Wearing orange to protest St. Patrick's Day
16) Watching my 5th grade music concerts
17) Perrier
18) Sneaking fruit into my purse at golen corral, for "the babies"
19) Falling asleep on her loveseat
20) "Jen! There's a tree, and I can't get out!"
21) "What is that?" "A Cow." "That's not a cow. This is how you draw a cow." "What is that?" "Tim , that's a cow!"
22) Me picking an "evil" book
23)Dressing up for Harry Potter, Youth Dances, and Jackmove
24) Scrapbook, pie making, sewing, singing, swimming, photography, yoga, running hiking, driving skills
25) Being in sync while thousands of miles away.
+documenting the scene of the crime for my ticket, hot cocoa, painting a message on the Weedman's wall, you have to play sims the right way!, climbing into my inlaws attic for baby stuff while pregnant. :-)

In addition to BOTH of my brothers remembering on their own that it was my b-day. Although one of them texted me that he was not going to wish me a happy birthday... for what it's worth.

Oh, and did I mention that it snowed today?! No? Well, alas, I know you won't believe that I was heartbroken that I couldn't make it to work... But, a girl can still pretend, right? So, we went sledding instead. I kept that sled out since Christmas praying we'd get to use it this year, and loving that we got to, just in the nick of time.

So aside from the amazing walking baby, and all of his crazy words (I am the proud mother of one smart 11 month old!) My life just couldn't get any better. I am already planning for the next adventure, and am enjoying every moment.
