Just thought I'd share.

I will not eat them in a box...

On second thought, they are so cute I could sure gobble them up!

We went out to the styx, and of course, I had my camera.

I took this option to do some portraits, though I need to do some nice close-ups, and give my husband specific directions on how he needs to face, and on his facial expression.

Pig'n Out

Every year, on the Second Wednesday in June, Virginia has a Pork Festival.

Yes. A Festival celebrating pigs.

No, not the cute and cuddly. My friends, this is celebrating the warm and tasty. This year we had an especially large group going with us, not that we matched the throngs of folks that come from all over to partake in this gluttonous affair.

So we fasted in preparation for the feast.

You pay for an open tab, with drinks and all the pork you can stuff in over a few hours.

They will entertain you with music that appeals to all walks of life, and they even have banana pudding with nilla wafers.

I must say that the pork bbq left much to be desired... but us southerners are particular about our bbq.

Everything else was superb.

We definitely stuffed ourselves silly. Here Piggy Piggy Piggy!

BG and a haircut

So, we have decided to vary up our family home evenings.

One Monday will be a spiritual lesson, and the next will be our botanical gardens bike ride and picnic.

That was last weeks fun.

The third monday is a practical life lessons, in which we went over our ABCs, and how to count ot 10.

Next week is our cultural evening out. It's Tim's turn to pick, and a Tide's game it is!

The monday after that will be a movie night if it's a 5th monday, and if not, we will be back to square one.

This is an exciting way for us to broaden our horizons as a family, explore our area, study the gospel, and just spend good old, quality family time. The bike ride was a blast!

Mac wanted to help pump tires, and then he was ready to go before we even attached his seat.

Once we got off, the three miles went very smoothly.

Even picnic time was a blast, aside from Malcolm's desire to jump into the ponds... which scared me half to death!

After this ride, I decided I hated my hair. It's too thick to be all one length, and since I refuse to pay anyone to cut it other than every 2 years, I took scissors to it myself. I think I did a pretty dagone good job, too.

Cool wind in my hair.

We went to the beach after church one sunday passed... and I think we have created a monster. Not Mac of course, but us. We loved it so much! The wind and sand, and water are addicting. The beach is a beautiful thing.

Geneology

I have been putting together my family tree, and it is a blast! Although I have not done any real digging yet, I am glad to begin putting the family history together for my merged family. It's neat to see the whens and wheres, and other information in between. Pretty soon I am going to have to begin talking to my elders, and then I will need to begin talking to ghosts. Save the ancestors, save the world! Well, at the very least, it looks pretty on paper.
