A Blizzard?

For those of you who don't know... Virginia had a mini "blizzard" which brought joy and happiness to many, including us. Here is a week in the snow.

Day 221 - 30 January, 2010

First Fall

Daddy and Malcolm were so excited about the snow fall that we were out to play in it at 7:00 a.m. Yes, you heard me, 7 a.m.

This included snowball fights, a mini snowman, snow angels, catching snowflakes in our mouths, and running around like general buffoons.

At 7 in the morning.

The pancakes we ate for breakfast were delicious.

Day 222 - 31 January, 2010

Outdoor Recess

Snow gets better with age, and with sunshine. IT can get miserable trying to play in the snow while it is cold and snowy, but a day in the sun with half a foot of snow is enough to make any 2 year old, and 34 year old shout with glee.

It is also difficult for an almost 2 year old o keep steady footing.

Day 223 - 1 February, 2010

Monday Meal

When I know I will have time at home, I find myself enjoying the homemaking arts that I do not get to enjoy during the school year because( after I get exercised, get home, get cleaned, get fed, get bathed, get groomed, and get read) most days I have little time for experimentation due to the list of chores that occupies my evening.

Tim's mussels we fantastic, and the egg noodle past I made was an instant hit.

Day 224 - 2 February, 2010

Venturing Out

We decided to visit family, sine there was still no school in session.

There was much ridiculousness, as there are hills on a golf course.

Oh, and still much snow.

Day 225 - 3 February, 2010

Can't Get Enough

Malcolm decided that snow outside was just not enough. When he dropped the powdered sugar shaker, and the top popped off, he discovered he could make it snow indoors too.

I walked in to him shaking and singing "snow-wing, snow-wing"

Do you have any idea how tough this was to clean?

Day 226 - 4 February, 2010

In the Sun He Melted

Our snowman started as a huge monstrosity that our toddler could not push over. With a little 45 degree weather:

his hat fell off
his nose fell off
his smile drooped
his arms drooped
and he ended up looking somewhat anorexic.

In the sun he melted, melted, melted, in the sun he melted, small... small... small...
