The Family I Love

Day 208 - 17 January, 2010

Happy Birthday!

We celebrated Danda's 64th Birthday with yummy cake. Though we rushed him to low out the candles, I think he still enjoyed the celebrations. We obviously didn't have enough candles, so this was my attempt to make some semblance of the number. I hope you can tell that is says 64, even though the picture is sideways.

Day 209 - 18 January, 2010

BANG!

It ended up that we didn't play BANG! with our friends on the holiday. This is fast becoming our favorite game. I am a big fan. Pit! is the only other game we are itching to add to our stockpile, and our collection will be complete, for now. BANG! has roles, and abilities, and you get to shoot each other! How cool is that?!

Day 210 - 19 January, 2010

Watering Can

So, since I made these watering cans for the crafters project, my son has been obsessed.

He loves the watering cans.

He carries them everywhere.

He always wants to water the plant.

Oh, and it was such a sad day at the post office when I put it in the box at the post office. What a scene. Thankfully the man at the head of the line took toddler pity on me.

Day 211 - 20 January, 2010

Sleep is Essential

Tim came to bed at 2:30 a.m.

Malcolm woke up at 3:30 a.m.

He tossed and turned in our bed until 5:30 a.m.

Tim is a saint, and went and fed him.

When I came out of the bedroom to gt ready for work at 7:00 a.m. this is what I found.

Day 212 - 21 January 21, 2009

Bay Scallops are smaller

I love scallops when they are cooked right.

They were on sale.

I didn't realize that bay scallops are not the ones I have normally eaten. Since I bought a TON of them, it's been a neat trick figuring out how to cook them all. I recommend pan frying them in a flour mixture, and adding an alfredo sauce (I like a variety of cheeses to make mine). Dinner this night was to die for, even though bay scallps are smaller.

Day 213 - 22 January, 2010

Grandma's China

Exhausted today.

Trying so hard to find a good shot.

Ended up with this shot of my grandma's china and my modrn wine glass find in our china cabinet.

I actually like the reflections and lighting.

What do you think?

Day 214 - 23 January, 2010

Car! VROOOOOM!

When I shop at kroger or BJs, Mac always wants to drive the cart.

I thought I would capture on film that he couldn't even wait for me to get the cart out of the corral.

Day 215 - 24 January, 2010

Eat Ming Ming

I do not know.

I did not ask.

To me, it looked like daddy had eaten the wonderpets.

I know daddy likes duck, but where is Ming Ming?

Monday, January 18, 2010

Life goes on here, even while there's tragedy elsewhere.

This weeks pictures are featured from my iPhone!

Day 202 - 11 January, 2010

Sleepyhead

Try as we might, when we took Malcolm out of the car, we could not get him to wake up. It was so funny to me that he wanted to stay asleep, upright, upside down, drooped over. So, I snapped a photo.

Day 203 - 12 January, 2010

Mama, Clapper!

I didn't realize that Mac is understanding his colors, until he found these clappers in my student prize bag. He loves to shakey shakey the clappers.

What a proud mama I am that he picked up the red, blue, and green ones!

Day 204 - 13 January, 2010

Winter=Warm Socks

I love my wool socks to keep my feet warm on our chilly wood floor. We still need to insulate under the house, along with a bunch of fixer upper things that need to happen. But, winter is for snuggling, and I do so love warm socks, and a fuzzy blanket to cozy up with.

Day 205 - 14 January, 2010

Shame on You!

I had another prenatal appointment today. I have, alas, gained a lot of weight. I gained a lot in the beginning, so I am not so worried about the baby's size, as my midwife mentioned could be an issue if I gain too much. Hopefully I only gain a few more. Working out would help, But I would have to go early some days, and Tim doesn't like that idea. I may just have to say "tough". This bust was giving me the shame on you look as I was leaving, so I caught him in the act. Their new office is hysterical. But, hopefully next time I will be in the actual midwifery center.

Day 206 - 15 January, 2010

The office

This is my belly's eye view of the mess that is my desk right now. We're testing, or we had been, so things have been pretty crazy. I am getting a student teacher starting up next week, and am way excited. I hope that things work out well between us. It's probably silly to be excited, but I think that this may really help me out this year.

Day 207 - 16 January, 2010

Watering Cans.

I am participating in a craft exchange project online, and my photos came in so that I could finish it. I hope they turned out cute, as they are not what I originally envisioned. My original vision included tin, and modge podge. It didn't work. So, this was the way I came up with to display these great photos I took. I hope my partner likes it.

Silly Shots

Day 198 - 7 January, 2010
Trike

Leftover from my effort to vary perspective, I love this shot of Mac's new trike. The little bell on top is what makes it fabulous. I love that he can't quite reach the pedals, but has a future in being that guy who can ride a bike the million different ways except the right one.

Day 199 - 8 January, 2010

Stars

Mac got a turtle for Christmas that lights up and projects stars onto the ceiling. We could stare at it forever. We love it for bedtime, as it's mesmerizing. I hope you can make out the different stars, as I had to play with exposure to get a clear shot.

Day 200 - 9 January, 2010

DAY 200!

As my grandad died yesterday, I would be remiss if I did not mention him. My dad called today asking if I could write his obituary with an air I used in an old school project. Well, I pulled that down, and wrote away. While they made some minor edits, I am proud that I could offer a few words to represent his life.

Day 201 - 10 January, 2010

Ice Skating

If they do not make ice skates in your size, it is a sign that you should not try to skate. Did we heed this? No! Of course not. Children are for playing with, and it was a free night with a YMCA membership, and what better way to try it than for free?! I hope you get a good laugh at our expense.

Perspective

Day 194 - 3 January, 2010

Home

I wanted to take some different perspective shots around my home after Tim mentioned that I had misspelled perspective with prospective in a quote my Elder Wirthlin that I have on the wall. I enjoy viewing the den and front door from the vantage point of the mail on my dining room table. What do you think?

Day 195 - 4 January, 2010

Breakfast

Blackberries and oatmeal. This was the best angle that I felt I could shoot. Everything else looked weird. Just so that you know, this is a fabulous breakfast, FYI.

Day 196 - 5 January, 2010

The Living Christ

I love looking at what is hung on people's walls. I have some things I've made and some photos I've taken, and various other family photos. I feel that what is on a person's wall speaks volumes about him. I just wish we could afford actual artwork. The Living Christ is not only a fabulous piece of written work, but I loved this project, and love all the photos of Christ.

Day 197 - 6 January, 2010

Three Kings Day

Goodbye Christmas. The wisemen have come for a visit, and Christmas comes to close. This change of perspective is of one of the gold of my favorite ornaments. The moravian star makes me smile.

Christmas Traditions

Day 184 - 24 December, 2009

Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, we set the mood for the season. There is a Christmas advent book I made years ago in Young Womens, which I still use to this day. Each day in December there is a story, a song, a spiritual thought, and a scripture. The wonderful tradition ends on Christmas Eve with a story, and poem. This is followed by the hymn Silent Night, and of course ends with the reading of Luke. Wince we had picked out our evening gifts the FHE before, we opened presents, and shared a family moment in reflection of the most special gift, the gift of our Savior.

Then it's a prayer, and babies to bed in anticipation of tomorrow. This night was also spent playing games with friends, but that is how holidays need be spent.

Day 185 - 25 December, 2009

For unto us, a child is born

Christmas Day starts with Stockings and Sticky buns. If we had a nativity, this would be when Jesus is placed inside. After much play, and discussion of the gift of eternal life, we do the mandatory round of presents until there are no more gifts under the tree.

Generally, it would be after Christmas dinner when we would write thank you notes for the lovelies we've received, but we had company for dinner, and so (because of our traveling) we will be doing that for FHE upon our return.
